Sat 5 Oct 2013
Saturday 5 October 2013 – 2pm
The program for this Saturday can be found here. We will have our usual 2pm start.
We will be having a presentation prior to the start of the competition. We have had 4 club records set this season and certificates will be presented to our record setters.
We will be holding Long Jump training for all age groups from 1pm this Saturday 5 October. This will be before the start of the program which will commence at 2pm so this will allow about an hour for high jump training. We have not been able to train in High Jump on Tues and Thurs nights because of repairs to lights at Windsor Park. We will have some shade structures set up for athletes to shelter in between their jumps. The training will be at the high jump area for flop and the field for scissors and all athletes are invited to attend.
The Long Jump training went well this past Saturday with a number of athletes in attendance.
Aspley Pentathlon – Sunday 13 October 2013
The Aspley Pentathlon is our first out of centre competition. The flyer can be found here. It will be held at Bowden Park, Geebung on Sunday 13 October. It is a 9am start for events – athletes need to be there from about 8:30am for warm-up. The u6s and u7s finish at about midday and the older age groups at approximately 2pm. It is chance to compete against other centres in a low key and well run event. There are always a good number of athletes who compete and we will have some of our shade structures at the ground for our athletes.
All athletes are encouraged to attend. The cost is $10 per athlete and nomination lists will be in the canteen from this on training nights and on Saturday. This Saturday 5 October will be the last date for nominations at Windsor Park although late nominations will be accepted for additional fee as per the flyer.
Tuesday and Thursday night Training
We are continuing training over the holidays from 6pm to 7:15 pm. We have a number of our coaches in attendance each session on Tues and Thurs night with coaches available for our under 6 age group as well. All athletes are encouraged to attend. We will be starting relay training after the school holidays as our Regional Relay event is coming up in early November.
Our canteen is open for training as well as on Saturdays – all profits go to the club.
