The program for this Saturday’s competition can be found here. 3pm start with training in Long Jump and High Jump from 2pm.
The following 2 Saturdays – 1 March and 8 March will be our Club Championships and the programs for this will be distributed shortly. This will be a 10 event competition for most age groups with the results given at Trophy Day 15 March which will be our last Saturday of the season.
Our training sessions will continue every Tuesday and Thursday up to Thursday 13 March from 6pm to 7:15pm.
Athletes who have qualified for State Champs must indicate their availability to compete by this Saturday.

Regional Championships
Congratulations to all of our athletes who competed this past weekend. Our club had a very successful meet with many PBs set and a large number of athletes qualifying for the state championships. Official results will be available and distributed soon. We will need to know whether qualifying athletes will be going to Cairns for the state championships. Many thanks to the parents who helped with the long jump and other events and with place judging.
Training
Our training is continuing each Tues and Thurs nights from 6pm to 7:15 pm. We will also train in High Jump and Long Jump this Saturday from 2pm.
Clubhouse Renovations
The clubhouse/canteen is being renovated but there is still access via the uniform room. We will have full canteen service this Saturday.
Long Jump/ Triple Jump Officials Training
We will be holding a training course for parents on long jump/triple jump officiating on Saturday 22 Feb from 2:15pm to 3pm. If you would like to learn more about long jump, and help the club, attend from 2:15 pm on Saturday 22 February. Your children can attend and train in long jump. If you would like to attend please see Catherine Malone at Windsor Park this coming Saturday.
We have had some new sand deposited in the long jump pits. It would be appreciated if any parents attending training tonight could bring a shovel to help spread it around the pits. There is sand in each pit so just needs to be spread within the pits.

Fri 7-Sun 9 Feb : Regionals
Regional Championships – Friday 7 to Sunday 9 February
The Regional Championships will be held at Bowden Park, Geebung this coming weekend. We will not be having a competition at Windsor Park this Saturday.
The list of athletes and events can be found here as is the most recent program – work off this program and note that events can be brought forward by 30 minutes. Be at the ground at least 1 hour before the event time.
We will have tents at the ground but bring folding chairs, hats water bottles etc. Full uniform must be worn – shirts and shorts with all patches being the age patch, registration number and IGA and Medibank Private patches.
Skins must be worn inside out and the use of spikes is limited as per the spike rule sheet which can be found here. If you are going to wear spikes you must wear regular shoes to the starting area and change there.
We will have 2 coaches in attendance at all times Saturday and Sunday to help athletes with warm-up, technique, strategy etc. Look for the coaches and consult with them. A number of committee will also be in attendance.
It is our club’s job to look after one of the long jump pits and parents will be asked to help with this as well as with timekeeping of events. Committee members will be asking parents to help out with timekeeping and in the long jump pit.
Good luck to our 99 athletes competing this weekend. This a qualifier for the State Champ event which will be held towards the end of March.
If there is any issue with rain or uncertainty about the event David Nyssen, Asst Centre Manager, can be contacted on 0410 657 252. If there is a bit of rain this is highly unlikely to lead to postponement of the event. Events might be delayed due to rain but will almost certainly proceed this weekend.
Training – Tuesday and Thursday
We will have training on both Tuesday and Thursday this week and next week for all age groups from 6pm at Windsor Park.
We will be back at Windsor Park for our Saturday competition on Saturday 15 Feb at 3pm.

We are having a City North committee meeting from 1:30pm to 2:30pm tomorrow Saturday 1 February at the Windsor Park clubhouse. Any parents interested in the running of the club or who would like to help out are encouraged to attend. Our new committee will be elected on 15 March this year and attending tomorrow’s meeting would be beneficial to any interested in joining the commitee and assisting with the running of the club – any assistance, large or small, is helpful to the club and will help its growth.
