City North Little Athletics - only distance training tonight (Tues 26th Feb)
Training tonight - Tuesday - because of water on the ground at Windsor Park and the threat of further rain training will not proceed tonight except for distance training. If it is not raining significantly at 6pm, we will have a couple of coaches in attendance to train in distance running for those that wish to attend. All other training will not proceed.
Hopefully we will be able to train fully this coming Thursday night from 6pm.
Club Championships
The programs for the 2 Day Club Champs can be found here for Week 1 and here for Week 2. They will take place on Saturday 2 and 9 March from 3pm. All registered athletes participate. No need to register - just attend. There will be a special scoring system based on place with bonus points for PBs. Results will be announced at Trophy Day on Saturday 16 March which will be our last Saturday for the season.

UPDATE : Training for Thursday 21st Feb 2013 is still on for tonight
Although we have had scattered showers during today, we have decided to try to proceed with training tonight.
Hopefully we will see you there.
Club Records updated
The Club Records page has been updated to reflect a recent record for the U13 Boys 70 metre sprint.
This was broken by Nick Beall last Saturday 16th February 2013. Congratulations.

Saturday 23 February
The program for this Saturday's competition can be found here. This will be a Bring a Friend Day and Family Fun Day with novelty races, parent athlete 100m races and relay races plus some of our usual eventd, please also find out flyer for the event here
We will be hoping to raise funds for purchase of new equipment - hurdles, and to introduce some new athletes to Little Athletics.
All City North athletes can bring up to 2 friends each to the event - if the friend writes in the athlete's name in the ticket which is on the attached flyer and hands this ticket in, the City North athlete will go into a draw to win a prize. All friends sign up as a free triallists on the day.
We will also be holding a raffle and the main raffle prize will be 8 Entry & Members Stand tickets for the Brisbane Racing Club - Eagle Farm and Doomben Racecourses. Tickets can be used for any Saturday & Public Holiday race meeting except for Tattersall's Racedays, Winter Racing Carnival, Exhibition Wednesday or Melbourne Cup. (Terms are printed on the back of the tickets) Value for tickets is $360 - kindly donated by the Shield family.
This should be a fun and enjoyable day and in past years has been a great success.
Training this Week
Weather permitting training will continue this week on Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm. Tomorrow - Tuesday, is not looking very good at this stage but hopefully the weather will clear by Thursday.

Remainder of Season Calendar
There have beens some changes to our calendar for the rest of the season. The Parent/Athlete Challenge and Fundraising Day will be on Saturday 23 Feb. This will also be a Bring a Friend Day and details of this will be distributed soon.
The Club Championship will be a 10 event competition for most age groups to take place over 2 consecutive Saturdays - 2 and 9 March with results announced at the Trophy Day on Sat 16 March.
Training will continue each Tuesday and Thursday with the last training session of the season being Tuesday 19 March. Training starts at 6pm. We will train in a number of events each night but in terms of High Jump Tues will be HJ flop and Thurs HJ scissors.

Although there has been some light rain overnight and this morning, at this point unless there are some thunderstorms or heavy rain, our weekly competition will still be on today.

Training - Tues and Thurs
We are holding our usual training sessions this week on Tues and Thurs from 6pm to 7:15 at Windsor Park. All athletes are encouraged to attend and there will be a number of coaches in attendance both nights with plenty of options available.

The program for this coming Saturday can be found here. It is the program that would have been undertaken on Saturday 26 Jan but for the rain. Please arrive just prior to 3pm for prompt start. Also we do not help with set-up so it would be appreciated if some parents could attend from 2pm to assist.
Regional Champs
Many thanks to all of the parents who assisted this past weekend. All of our athletes performed very well with a high level of sportsmanship. We had the biggest turnout of any club in the region which is a great effort. Official results will be available soon and will be distributed. Top 4 in each event qualified for the state Champs to be held on the weekend of 22 to 24 March.
