The program for this Saturday can be found here. The weather forecast is for fine conditions. The program will commence at 2pm.
We are considering a later start time for future Saturday competitions but for now we will continue to start at 2pm. Most responses have been in favour of a later start time on Saturday, such as 2:30 or 3pm, but further feedback would be helpful.
As always we will need help with set-up from 1pm.
Training Tonight - Cancelled
The decision has been made to Cancel tonight's training session given the wet weather and high probability that it will continue into the early evening. If athletes wish some training in particular events on Saturday (to get ready for the Pentathlon) that can be accommodated after Saturday's competition and see me about it on Saturday so the training can be arranged.
Aspley Pentathlon - Sunday 14 October - 8:30am
Our entries have been submitted for the pentathlon and list of entrants can be found here. If anyone has been omitted please email back asap. Entries can be taken at Bowden Park up to 8am on Sunday morning. All parents are asked to help out at field events in which their children are participating.
This event will be held this Sunday 14 October at Bowden Park, Geebung. All athletes should try to arrive at 8:30am to allow warm-up prior to 9am start. Full club uniform, shorts and shirt, needs to be worn, with number on front of shirt and age patch, IGA and Medibank badge on the sleeves. Spikes no more than 7mm can be worn by but need to changed into at the starting line or at the field event. u6 to u10 athletes cannot wear spikes, u11s and u12s in jumping events and laned track events and u13s up may wear spikes in all running events and jumping events.
There is no parking on the eastern side of Cleavue St and there is plenty of parking north of the oval on Dartnell, High and Collings Sts.
A new uniform order has arrived and uniforms will be available in the clubhouse this Saturday.
Regional Relays - Saturday 10 November 2012
The Regional Relays is one of our biggest events for the first half of the season. It will be held on Saturday 10 November at Bowden Park, Geebung. We will start to take nominations this Saturday. The nominations close on Saturday 27 October. There will be no Saturday competitions at Windsor Park on the day of Regiaonal Relays. Athletes can nominate in up to 3 field events and 2 running relays Athletes will be place into at least 1 running relay. Athletes just need to nominate and they will be placed in teams. A information sheet can be found here and further information will be at the club on Saturday. The nomination fee is $10.
