Regional Championships
There will be no competition at Windsor Park on Saturday 8 February as the Regional Championships are taking place that weekend. We’ll be back at Windsor Park on Saturday 15 February. Training continues on Tues and Thurs nights from 6pm. The full team list and events for those competing at Regional Championships will be circulated next week when received back from the State Office.

City North Committee Meeting
We are having a City North committee meeting from 1:30pm to 2:30pm tomorrow Saturday 1 February at the Windsor Park clubhouse. Any parents interested in the running of the club or who would like to help out are encouraged to attend. Our new committee will be elected on 15 March this year and attending tomorrow’s meeting would be beneficial to any interested in joining the commitee and assisting with the running of the club – any assistance, large or small, is helpful to the club and will help its growth.

Thu 23 Jan 14 : Training Cancelled
TRAINING FOR THURSDAY 23RD JANUARY 2014 HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Training tonight, Thursday is cancelled due to rain. We will have High Jump (scissors and flop) and Long Jump training this Saturday from 2pm.

Tue 21 Jan 14: Training resumes
Tues and Thurs Training
We will restart our training sessions tonight Tues 21 Jan from 6pm at Windsor Park. If athletes wish to train in a particular event given the upcoming Regional Championships please mention it at the training sessions and we will try to accommodate.
The program for this Saturday’s competition will be circulated later this week. Saturday start time is now 3pm and we will have some additional training from 2pm this coming Saturday in HJ and LJ.
Regional Championships
A reminder that registration for the Regional Champs closes this Sat 25 Jan 14. The Regional Championships is an individual event competition which is to be held from Fri 7 Feb to Sun 9 Feb at Bowden Park, Geebung. The program can be found here and nomination form here. Athletes may participate in a maximum of 5 events. All athletes are strongly encouraged to participate. This is the qualifying event for the State Champs to be held in mid March 2014. Cost is $10 per athlete and the registration forms will be in the canteen and all nominations should be submitted there.
Full competition uniform must be worn for the Regional Champs – shorts, shirt with age patch, number and IGA and Medibank badge. Use of spikes is limited and regular running shoes need to worn to the start line for those ages who can use spikes.

Sat 18 Jan 2014 - Happy new year
Our season will resume on Saturday 18 January 2014. The program can be found here. Please note the 3pm start time. We will start at 3pm for the remainder of the season.
Training will resume on Tuesday 21 January 2014 at 6pm at Windsor Park and continue on Thursday and Tuesday thereafter. The 2pm High Jump and Long Jump training will resume on Saturday 25 January.

Sat 7 Dec : Break for Christmas
Saturday 7 December
Our last Saturday competition before Christmas will be this Saturday and the program can be found here. The results and medals of the Pentathlon held on 23 Nov will be announced at the canteen to each age group as they finish the program.
There will also be a free sausage sizzle at the canteen at the conclusion of the program with drinks available for purchase.
Training
We will continue with our Tues and Thurs training this week from 6pm. Next week we will have training just on Tues night from 6pm. All athletes can attend but those competing in the State Relay champs on 14 Dec can use next Tues to train in their specific event(s).
This Saturday from 1pm we will train in Long Jump and High Jump.
Second Half of Season
The season will resume on 18 January 14 starting at 3pm. We start an hour later in the second half of the season to avoid the hotter weather. The Tues and Thurs training sessions will commence Tues 21 January.

Sat 30 Nov : City North vs Aspley
Saturday 30 November – City North v Aspley
This Saturday athletes from the Aspley Little Athletics will be competing with us. The program can be found here. It will be very much like a regular Saturday competition but we will be scoring the competition between us and Aspley and a winning club will be announced. There is no need to register – just show up prior to 2pm as usual.
We will have HJ and LJ training from 1pm this Saturday as well. Tues and Thurs night training is continuing from 6pm.
Saturday 7 December
Sat 7 Dec will be our last Saturday competition before Christmas. We will resume on Saturday 18 Jan at 3pm. In the second half of the season we start at 3pm given hotter weather.
On 7 Dec we will have 4 events followed by presentation of certificates and medals for those who participated in the Pentathlon last Saturday. There will also be a free sausage sizzle for all athletes.

Sat 30 Nov 13 : Event Cancelled
We have had to cancel today’s competition against Aspley because of ongoing rain. Even if it did clear the amount of water currently on the ground would make it unsafe for the athletes.
The competition with Aspley will hopefully be rescheduled for early Feb 14.

Sat 23 Nov 13 : Club Pentathlon
The Club Pentathlon is this Saturday 23 November from 2pm. All registered athletes can participate and there is no need to register – just show up on the day. The program can be found here
The Pentathlon will be very similar to any of our Saturday competitions but athletes will receive points based on performance in each event. The total number of points will determine how an athlete finishes in his or her age group. All athletes who participate will receive a medal and certificate of performance with the top 3 receiving a 1st, 2nd or 3rd medal. Results will be announced on 7 Dec at Windsor Park which will be our last date of competition prior to Christmas.
Hurdles races are prominent in the program and we will be having extra hurdles practice this Thursday from 6pm, as we did last night. Hurdles will also be on the track hopefully from about 1pm on Saturday for those who would like some training prior to the competition. We will also have some long jump training this Saturday from 1pm.
We have 30 new hurdles which have been donated to us by Mayne Harriers Track Club – this club trains at Windsor Park each Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm. Many thanks to the Mayne Harriers for this very generous donation which will allow our programs tom move even quicker.
City North v Aspley – we will be having a competition with the Aspley Little Athletics club on Sat 30 Nov at Windsor Park from 2pm. More details will be provided soon.
