City North Little Athletics - Week of 21 November 

Pentathlon - Saturday 26 November - 3pm sharp

This Saturday 26 November is the club pentathlon and the program can be found by clicking here.  There is no need to register.  All registered athletes should participate and just need to show up at Windsor Park to compete.   It is very important to note though that we will be having a 3pm sharp start time.  The hurdles will be up from about 2pm so athletes can practice from that time and we'll start warm up at about 2:30 but first event will be 3pm so arrive early.  Given that points are awarded for performance in each event it is essential to be there on time to participate in all of the events.  


Medals and certificates will be awarded to all participants.  

Training - Tuesday and Thursday


To get ready for the pentathlon we will be having training this Tues and Thurs nights from 6pm to 7:15pm at Windsor Park.  There will be hurdles training both nights as well as training in other events.  A number of coaches will be in attendance. 

Christmas Party - Saturday 3 December  

Our last Saturday competition of 2011 will be on Saturday 3 December.  We will have a shorter program starting at about 3pm and then a Xmas party in the clubhouse.  The club will supply pizza and BBQ food with a drink to each athlete.  It is requested that each athlete bring a dessert of savoury food.   The Xmas party is always a lot of fun for the athletes. 

Christmas Break

After the 3rd of December we then have a break from the Saturday competitions until we resume on Saturday 14 January 2012 for the second half of the season which will conclude on Saturday 17 March.  We will likely be continuing the Tuesday night training over the Xmas break subject to Windsor Park being available.  An update will be provided on this.  One of the major events of the second half will be the Regional Championships which is an individual event competition in which athletes can compete in up to 5 events of their choice.  The competition takes place from Friday 3 Feb to Sunday 5 Feb at the Arana club.  Athletes need only attend when there events are taking place.  Information about this event is at the clubhouse Tues, Thurs and Saturday and nominations are being taken now.  Nominations close 21 January so it is best to nominate prior to Xmas. The cost is $10. All athletes are encouraged to compete.
