City North Little Athletics - Week of 17 Oct

 
Thanks to all of the parents who assisted in the packing up of equipment in record time this past Saturday.  Unfortunately we were forced to abandon the program about 1/2way through because of the approaching storm.
 
Congratulations to all of our 42 athletes who competed at the Aspley Pentathlon yesterday.  Photos and details of trophy winners will be in this weekend's newsletter.  A special thank you to the Aspley club for putting on such an excellent event.

 
Training - Tues and Thurs - Windsor Park from 6 to 7:15pm

 
We will be having training this Tuesday and Thursday nights.  The weather forecast is for good conditions so all athletes are encouraged to attend.  A number of coaches will be in attendance with a variety of training options on offer.  We will start at 6pm and try to finish by 7:15pm each night.
 

Upcoming Events.

We have 2 important upcoming events.  This coming Sunday, 23 October, we have our UQ training day which will go from 8:30 am to 12 noon on the track at the University of Queensland.  The program can be found by clicking here and the flyer here.  You can sign up at the training sessions this week or this coming Saturday but spaces are limited and we can only accommodate about another 30 to 40 athletes so sign up quickly or forward me an email.  The cost to attend is $5 - this can be paid this coming Saturday.
 
Regional Relays will be Saturday 5 November 2011 at the Redcliffe club.  Athletes can compete in up to 5 events although you can choose the events you wish to compete in subject to enough athletes nominating to form a team.  The deadline for nominating is this Saturday 22 Oct.  You can nominate at the training sessions or at the club this Saturday.  Regional Relays is the most important event for the first half of the season and is the qualifying meet for the State Champs.  There will no competition at Windsor Park on 5 November.  All athletes are strongly encouraged to sign-up - we will place you in a team.
